Avoid applying heat to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours. This includes hot baths, sauna, and steam.
The first time you shower after you waxing procedure, use an antibacterial cleanser, on the waxed area(s).
Pinking of the skin usually disappears within 6 to 8 hours after the waxing treatment. Slight pinking is normal.
For a first waxing, when it has been more than a couple of months since being waxed, or if skin has been lifted, there can be discomfort for 3 to 5 days. You can use an Antiseptic / Anesthetic spray, and / or an Antibiotic ointment, both are available over the counter.
Break outs afterwards are common. Use an alcohol free "anti-acne" wipe following the treatment, and twice a day until breakouts are gone.
Avoid applying highly fragranced products to the waxed area. This includes, perfume, scented body lotions, anti-perspirants, cosmetics, or hygiene sprays (a mild, unscented, powder based deodorant can be helpful).
Avoid using harsh abrasives or exfoliants in the waxed area for first 24 hrs. The day after your waxing treatment, lightly exfoliate waxed area with a loofah, or other mechanical exfoliant (PFB) to avoid future problems.
Avoid sun tanning for 12 to 24 hours. This includes any strong ultraviolet (UV) light exposure or tanning bed treatments.
Avoid applying high SPF sunblocks to the waxed area for 12-24 hours after the waxing service. Sunscreen chemicals can be irritating to newly waxed skin. This includes self-tanning products and tan accelerators.
